3. Synchronizing carburetors
Both cylinders will not pull evenly unless the
carburation System for each side is identical. If
one slide is higher in the carburetor more than the
other slide, overall poor engine Performance will
be the result.
a With the engine not running, remove the rubber
air filter connectors.
b. Twist the throttle grip fully open so that the slides
lift completely up.
c. Reach into the air intake of both carburetors with
the fingers of one hand (a side angle mirror placed
in front of the air intakes will also allow the slide
positions to be checked) and feel the top of the
bores for the throttle slides
d Slowly close the throttle grip until the throttle
slides just begin to enter the bore.
e. Both slides must be synchronized to enter the
bore at exactly the same time. If the slides are
not synchronized, then make an adjustment atthe
top of the carburetor, using the cable adjuster, to
raise or lower one slide to match the other.
3. Synchronisation des carburateurs
Pour que les deux cylindres travaillent de fagon uni-
forme, ii faut que la carburation soit la meme des
deux c ö t e s , c'est-ä-dire que les boisseaux des deux
carburateurs soient bien synchronises. Si tel n'est
pas le cas, la marche generale du moteur en sera af-
fectee.
a. Le moteur etant au repos, enlever la tuyauterie en
caoutchouc unissant le filtre ä air aux carburateurs.
b. Tourner la poignee des gaz en position d'ouverture
maximum, de maniere ä relever completement les
boisseaux (tiroirs de gaz).
c. Introduire les doigts d'une main dans les tubulures
d'aspiration des deux carburateurs (on peut egale-
ment reperer la position des boisseaux ä l'aide d'un
miroir place en face des tubulures d'aspiration), et les
placer sous les boisseaux, ä la partie superieure des
tubulures d'aspiration.
d. Fermer lentement la poignee des gaz, j u s q u ' ä ce que
les boisseaux commencent tout juste ä redescendre
dans les tubulures d'aspiration.
e. Les deux boisseaux doivent apparaitre exactement au
meme instant au sommet des tubulures d'aspiration.
Si tel n'est pas le cas, synchroniser les deux bois-
seaux en agissant sur la vis de reglage du cäble, au
sommet d'un carburateur. Synchroniser les deux
boisseaux en elevant ou en abaissant l'un d'eux au
meme niveau que l'autre.
3. Synchronisierung der Vergaser
Die beiden Zylinder können nur dann gleichmäßig
ziehen, wenn die Vergaser auf beiden Seiten
gleichmäßig eingestellt sind. Wenn ein Drossel-
schieber höher als der andere ist, dann hat der
Motor eine schlechte Gesamtleistung.
a. Gummiluftfilteranschlüsse bei stehendem Motor
abnehmen.
b. Gasdrehgriff völlig öffnen, so daß sich die Dros-
selschieber vollständig nach oben bewegen.
c. Nun mit den Fingern einer Hand in den Lufteinlaß
beider Vergaser langen (ein in einem entspre-
chendem Winkel vor den Lufteinlässen angeord-
neter Spiegel ermöglicht ebenfalls die Prüfung der
Drosselschieberposition) und oben in den Bohrun-
gen die Drosselschieberposition prüfen.
d. Gasdrehgriff langsam schließen bis die Drossel-
schieber in die Bohrungen einzutreten beginnen.
e. Beide Schieber müssen synchronisiert sein, damit
sie genau zur selben Zeit in die Bohrung eintre-
ten. Wenn die Schieber nicht dieselbe Höhe ha-
ben, dann ist eine Einstellung oben am Vergaser
vorzunehmen, indem der Einsteller für den Gas-
zug benutzt wird, um einen Schieber zu heben
oder zu senken, so daß beide Schieber auf glei-
cher Höhe sind.
