9. Valve clearance is adjusted by replacing
the adjusting pad on the top of the valve
lifter. Adjusting pads are available in 25
thicknesses, ranging from No. 200 (2.00
mm (0.079 in)) to No. 320 (3.20 mm
(0.130 in) > in steps of 0.05 mm (0.002
in). The thickness of each pad is marked
on the pad face that contacts the valve
lifter (not the cam). Adjustment of the
valve clearance is accomplished as
follows:
a. There is a slot in each valve lifter. The
slots must be positioned opposite of each
other on the exhaust and intake side
before the tappet adjusting tool is in-
stalled.
b. Turn the crankshaft until the camshaft
identification mark (IN or EX) faces
upward. Place the tappet adjusting tool
under the camshaft with the tool match
mark (*) and camshaft I.D. mark alig-
ned.
9. Le jeu de soupape se regle en changeant
Ia cale de reglage situee au sommet du
poussoir de soupape. Les cafes de reglage
sont disponibles en 25 epaisseurs giant
du numero 200 (2,00 mm) (0,079 in) au
numero 320 (3,20 mm) (0,130 in) par
paliers de 0,05 mm (0,002' in). L'epais-
seur de cheque cale est marquee sur la
face de cale qui touche le poussoir' de
soupape (pas la came). Le reglage du jeu
de soupape se fait comme suit:
a. Cheque poussoir de soupape porte une
fente. Sur Ies cotes admission et echap-
pement, ces fentes doivent etre face a
face avant de monter l'outil de reglage
de poussoir.
b Tourner le vilebrequin jusqu'a ce que la
marque d'identification d'arbre a cames
(IN ou EX) soit en haut. Monter l'outil
de reglage de poussoir sur l'arbre a cames.

de cet outil et la marque
d'identification de l'arbre a cames doi-
vent coincider.
9. Die Einstellung des Ventilspiels erfolgt
durch Ausstausch des Druckpilzes an
der Oberseite des VentilstOssels. Diese
Druckpilze sind in 25 verschiedenen
Dicken erhaltlich, beginnend mit Nr. 200
(2,00 mm) 0,079 in) in 0,05 mm (0,002
in) Stufen bis zu Nr. 320 (3,20 mm)
(0,130 in), wobei die Dicke jedes Druck-
pilzes auf der dem VentilstOssel zuge-
wandten Seite (nicht auf der gegen die
Nocke gerichtete Seite) angegeben 1st.
Das Ventilspiel wird wie folgt eingestellt:
a. Die Ventilstossel sind mit Nuten versehen.
Diese Nuten milssen auf der Auspuff,und
Ansaugseite gegeni.lberliegend angeordnet
werden, bevor das Ventilspiel-Einstell-
werkzeug angebracht wird.
b. Die Kurbelwelle drehen, bis die Markier-
ung der Nockenwelle (IN oder EX) nach
oben gerichtet ist. Das Ventilspiel-Ein-
stellwerkzeug unter der Nockenwelle
anordnen, wobei die Bezugsmarkierung
(s) des Werkzeuges mit der ldentifika-
tionsmarkierung der Nockenwelle aus-
zurichten ist.
