4 Function description
The diaphragm metering pump is a diaphragm metering pump driven by electric motor
and is intended for conveying clean, non-abrasive dosage media. The step motor
technology used here means that both the suction stroke duration and the metering stroke
duration can be varied.
This results in a variety of benefits such as a large setting range, virtually continuous and
low-pulsation metering, and even the option to respond to high viscosity or challenging
intake conditions.
Metering quantity setting:
For step motor pumps, the metering capacity is set by changing the metering stroke
duration with a constant suction stroke duration. The lower the metering capacity that is
set, the more the expression time is extended. For example, setting the metering capacity
to 50% doubles with expression time. When considered over a fixed period (for example,
one minute), this results in a halving of the metering capacity.

Dosing modes S-standard, M-medium and L-low:
By selecting the appropriate "Dosing mode", it is possible to extend the suction duration
per stroke (suction stroke duration) and thus adjust the metering to high product
viscosities or challenging suction conditions. This extension of the suction stroke duration
simultaneously results in a reduction in the maximum metering capacity.
