Configuring the bus system

The settings to be made for the overall system during the bus
configuration are superior to the already described settings on the
bus coupler.
All the performance data and objects for the configuration of the
bus coupler are listed in the Electronic Data Sheet (EDS).
This file is on hand for the bus coupler with fieldbus protocol
DeviceNet and is called RXyyRMV4.EDS (yy = version). The EDS
file can be downloaded from the Internet at
www.aventics.com/mediadirectory.
The work described here may only be carried out by
qualified electronics personnel and in compliance with the
operator's documentation on configuring the bus master, as
well as applicable technical standards, directives, and
safety regulations.
Before starting configuration, the following steps must have
been carried out and completed on the bus coupler:

You have assembled the bus coupler and valve terminal (see
"Assembly" on page 95).

You have connected the bus coupler (see "Connecting the
bus coupler electrically" on page 96).

You have carried out the presettings (see "Making
presettings" on page 105).
Configuration error
An incorrectly configured bus coupler will lead to
malfunctions in the system and may damage the system.
