Loading general station description

You have to create the EDS files with English texts for the AES series bus coupler for CANopen
with the "AES CANopen EDS Creator" software tool. The CD R412018133, included on delivery,
contains the software tool. The files can also be downloaded online from the AVENTICS Media
Center. You can name the EDS file however you would like.
Each valve system is equipped with a bus coupler; some contain valves and/or I/O modules,
depending on your order. The EDS file contains the data of all modules connected to the bus coupler.
The EDS file with the parameter data of the modules is loaded in a configuration program, which
allows the user to conveniently assign data to the individual modules and set the parameters.
Create the EDS files with the software tool "AES CANopen EDS Creator" on the PC that contains
the PLC configuration program.
– Insert the installed electrical and pneumatic modules in the right order on the corresponding
side.
– Before saving, enter a product name to identify the device. If the field is left empty, the default
name "AES-D-BC-CAN" is used.
You can use configuration software from various manufacturers for the PLC configuration.
The descriptions in the following sections therefore focus on the basic procedure for configuring
the PLC.
5.3

Configuring the bus coupler in the fieldbus system

Before you can configure the individual components of the valve system, you need to configure
the bus coupler as a slave in the fieldbus system using your PLC configuration software.
1. Make sure the bus coupler is assigned a valida address (see section 9.2 ?"Setting the address on
the bus coupler" on page 99).
2. Configure the bus coupler as a slave module.

Module sequence

The components installed in the unit are addressed via the object directory in the bus coupler that
is generated based on the installed components after startup (see section 15.3 "Object directory" on
page 127). The corresponding PDOs are prepared according to communication profile CiA DS-401
V3.0.0. You have to activate all further PDOs (max. 22 PDOs per transmission direction) manually via
SDO (see CANopen communication profile CiA DS-301 V4.2.0).
If the RPDO 5 is activated, then RPDO 1 must be deactivated, since RPDO 1 and RPDO 5 are
mirrored. This only applies to the default mapping. If TPDO5 is activated, then TPDO1 and
TPDO5 represent the same input data.
