Presettings on the Bus Coupler
The following presettings have to be made:
Setting the address on the bus coupler (see section 9.2 "Setting the address on the bus coupler"
on page 99)
Setting the baud rate (see section 9.4 "Changing the baud rate" on page 101)
Setting diagnosis messages (see section 5.5 "Setting the bus coupler parameters" on page 93)
The address is set via the switches S2 and S3 below the window.
The baud rate is set via the DIP switch S1 below the window.
Diagnostic data reports are activated and deactivated with parameters (see section 5.5 "Setting the
bus coupler parameters" on page 93).

Opening and closing the window

Defective or improperly positioned seal!
Water may enter the device. The protection class IP65 is no longer guaranteed.
Make sure that the seal below the window (3) is intact and properly positioned.
Make sure that the screw (25) has been securely tightened with the correct torque (0.2 Nm).
1. Loosen the screw (25) on the window (3).
2. Lift up the window.
3. Carry out the settings as described in the next steps.
4. Close the window. Ensure that the seal is positioned correctly.
5. Tighten the screw.
Tightening torque: 0.2 Nm
9.2
Setting the address on the bus coupler
Because the bus coupler operates exclusively as a slave module, it must be assigned an address in
the fieldbus system.
Addresses from 1-99 can be set on the bus coupler. If the address is set to 0, the bus coupler
automatically sets the address to 2 and the LED IO/DIAG flashes in green. In addition, the bus
coupler sends the following error message (EMCY) (see section 15.4 "EMCY error codes" on
page 139):

The bus coupler also sends this message if the diagnosis messages are deactivated.
Each address must be unique within the network. It is not possible to assign addresses twice within
the CANopen system.
