Bus coupler

The AES series bus coupler for CANopen establishes communication between the superior
controller and connected valves and I/O modules. It is designed for use as a slave only on a CANopen
bus system in accordance with EN 50325-4. The bus coupler therefore requires a separate address
and configuration. To create the EDS file you need for configuration, the CD R412018133 provided
contains the "AES CANopen EDS Creator" software tool (see section 5.2 "Loading general station
description" on page 91).
During cyclical data transfer, the bus coupler can send up to 512 bits of input data to the controller
and receive up to 512 bits of output data from the controller. To communicate with the valves, an
electronic interface for the valve driver connection is located on the right side of the bus coupler.
The left side of the device contains an electronic interface which establishes communication with
the I/O modules. The two interfaces function independently.
The bus coupler can actuate a maximum of 64 single or double solenoid valves (128 solenoid coils)
and up to ten I/O modules. It supports baud rates up to 1 Mbaud.
All electrical connections are located on the front side, and all status displays on the top.
