Setting the bus coupler parameters

The characteristics of the valve system are influenced by the different parameters that you set in
the controller. You can use these parameters to determine the responses of the bus coupler and the
I/O modules.
This section only describes the parameters for the bus coupler. The parameters of the I/O zone and
the pressure regulators are explained in the system description of the individual I/O modules or in
the operating instructions for the AV-EP pressure regulators. The system description of the bus
coupler explains the parameters for the valve driver boards.
The following parameters can be set for the bus coupler:
via the MCR object (object 0x2000)
– Error message behavior
– Behavior of outputs in case of error
– Response to a backplane malfunction
via the Error Behavior object (object 0x1029)
– Response to an interruption in CANopen communication
Enter the corresponding parameters via SDO telegrams.
The parameters and configuration data are not saved locally by the bus coupler. They are sent
from the PLC to the bus coupler and the installed modules on startup.

Parameters for diagnostic messages

With the settings in bit 3 of the MCR object (object 0x2000) you can set on the control whether the
bus coupler is to send diagnostic data (see section 15.4 "EMCY error codes" on page 139).
You can find a description of the diagnostic data for the valve zone in section 6 "Structure of the
Valve Driver Data" on page 95. A description of the diagnostic data for AV-EP pressure
regulators can be found in the operating instructions for AV-EP pressure regulators.
The diagnostic data for the I/O zone is described in the system descriptions of the individual
I/O modules.

Error-response parameters

This parameter describes the response of the bus coupler in the absence of CANopen
communication. You can set the following responses in the module control register (MCR) object
(object 0x2000):
