7. Checking the Spacer
1) C h e c k t h e i n n e r a n d o u t e r s u r f a c e s o f t h e s p a c e r
f o r Scratches.
S c r a t c h e s o n t h e s p a c e r w i l l i m p a i r c l u t c h ac-
t i o n . S m o o t h a w a y a n y Scratches w i t h f i n e grain
s a n d p a p e r o r a n o i l s t o n e . If t h e Scratches
c a n n o t be r e m o v e d , r e p l a c e t h e spacer.
2) Insert t h e spacer i n t o t h e p r i m a r y d r i v e n gear
boss a n d c h e c k f o r c l e a r a n c e . If t h e c l e a r a n c e is
e x c e s s i v e , n o i s e m a y result. R e p l a c e t h e spacer
a n d / o r p r i m a r y d r i v e n gear.
3) M o u n t t h e spacer o n t h e t r a n s m i s s i o n m a i n a x l e ,
a n d c h e c k f o r p l a y . If t h e p l a y is e x c e s s i v e ,
r e p l a c e t h e spacer.
8 . Installing the Cushion Ring
T h e c u s h i o n rings are p l a c e d b e t w e e n t h e c l u t c h p l a t e
a n d t h e f r i c t i o n plates t o a c h i e v e b e t t e r c l u t c h a c t i o n .
C h e c k w h e t h e r t h e c u s h i o n rings are i n p l a c e a n d n o t
t w i s t e d .

V o y e z si les surfaces interieures et exterieures ne
sont pas griffees.
Si c'etait le cas, la Souplesse de fonctionnement
de l'embrayage serait entravee. II faudra donc
passer les rayures eventuelles ä la toile emeri fine
ou ä la pierre ponce. Si ce traitement ne suffit
pas ä eliminer les egratignures, remplacez
l'entretoise.
2 ) Introduisez l'entretoise dans la couronne du
pignon conduit primaire et verifiez le jeu. Si
celui-ci est excessif, le fonctionnement pourrait
etre bruyant. Dans ce cas, remplacez le pignon
conduit primaire ou l'entretoise.
3 ) Placez l'entretoise sur l'arbre principal de la
transmission et examinez le jeu. Si celui-ci est
excessif, remplacez l'entretoise.
8 . P o s e d u j o i n t e l a s t i q u e
Les joints elastiques se placent entre les disques
d'embrayage en acier et les disques de friction, pour
favoriser le fonctionnement de l'embrayage.
Assurez-vous que les joints elastiques sont bien en
place et qu'ils ne sont pas tordus.
