a. R e p l a c i n g S p o k e s
A n y b e n o r f a u l t y s p o k e s h o u l d be q u i c k l y
r e p l a c e d b e c a u s e it w i l l a d v e r s e l y a f f e c t o t h e r
n e i g h b o r i n g s p o k e s , i m p o s i n g e x t r a l o a d s o n
t h e m .
T h e b e n t e n d o f t h e s p o k e is inserted i n t o t h e
h u b , t h e t h r e a d e d e n d is l o c k e d t o t h e n i p p l e .

b. A d j u s t i n g t h e S p o k e T e n s i o n
A n y l o o s e n e d s p o k e o r u n e v e n s p o k e t e n s i o n
m a y cause t h e r i m t o w a r p . T h i s m a y also
a d v e r s e l y a f f e c t t h e s p o k e itself. S p o k e s t e n d t o
b e c o m e loose after m a n y m i l e s . T h i s is p a r t i c u -
l a r l y t r u e w i t h a n e w m a c h i n e . T h e r e f o r e , t h e
s p o k e s s h o u l d be r e t i g h t e n e d p e r i o d i c a l l y .
R e t i g h t e n i n g s h o u l d b e p e r f o r m e d b y giving each
n i p p l e o n e t u r n , b e g i n n i n g w i t h o n e side o f t h e
h u b a n d t h e n t h e o t h e r side.
2) Rayons
a. Remplacement des rayons
U n rayon gauchi ou defectueux sera
immediatement remplace car i l entrainerait la
deterioration des rayons voisins, par exces de
Charge.
Le bout recourbe d u rayon est introduit dans le
m o y e u , tandis que l'extremite filetee est vissee
dans l'embout de rayon (voir F i g . 5-1-11). Pour
retirer le rayon, devissez completement l'embout
et decrochez l'extremite courbee du m o y e u .
b. Reglage de la tension des rayons
U n rayon desserre ou une tension inegale des
rayons peut entramer le voilage de la jante. Le
rayon lui-meme pourrait devenir inutilisable. Les
rayons ont tendance ä se desserrer apres le
parcours d'un certain nombre de kilometres.
Ceci est particulierement vrai pour les nouvelles
machines. Pour cette raison, les rayons seront
resserres periodiquement.
Cette Operation sera effectuee en faisant
effectuer un tour ä chaque embout, en
commen9ant par u n c ö t e du m o y e u , puis en
passant de Lautre c ö t e .
Couple de serrage des embouts de rayon: 15
kg-cm.
2) S p e i c h e n
