Description of parameters for administrators

Parameters for administrators can be changed by users of
the a
security level. This requires a login of the
dmin
corresponding security level. Administrator parameters are
permanently stored in the processor unit and retain their
value until they are overwritten.
The administrator parameters mainly describe the
configuration of the connected UHF hardware, the system
and network properties as well as default parameters for
special functions such as Automatic Scan,
FormattedTagData and data carrier signature.
The network parameters are necessary for the operation of
the processor unit within a network and must be
parameterized for the network connection. System
parameters, such as time or time zone, are only necessary
for certain device functions, but should be set correctly to
avoid malfunctions.
Parameters for configuring the UHF compon-
ents are used by the processor unit to perform
a correct calculation of the radiated transmitting
power. These parameters should therefore be
set using the data sheets of the UHF compon-
ents used!
The following groups of administrator parameters are
described:
UHF components (see page 73)
Network, system (see page 75)
FormattedTagData (default) (see page 79)

The Automatic scan parameter can be used to specify
whether and at what time interval an antenna should
automatically monitor the detection range. Data that is
detected during this process is transferred in the format
that was specified via the parameters for the
ReadMultipleTagDataFormatted function, see Format
definition for ReadTagDataFormatted,
ReadMultipleTagDataFormatted and
WriteFormattedTagData parameters.
Automatic scanning can be parameterized independently
for each TCP session, with either one antenna or all active
antennas assigned to each session. The data is
transmitted on a separate TCP port as pure user data
(without protocol overhead). This keeps the network load
on the main connection low and the data can be
processed without protocol knowledge. Only the
formatting of the data must be known.
When this parameter is saved, the antenna selection and
the maximum number of data carriers from the last
UniversalTagList command are recorded and used to
execute the automatic scan.
The following TCP port assignments apply to Automatic
scan:

The parameter is transferred as a time value in multiples of
10 ms, where the value zero means that Automatic scan is
disabled.
Time interval = (0...255) × 10 ms
(0: Off, 10 ms...2550 ms)
