Description of parameters for standard users

Parameters for standard users can be changed by any
user without logging in. These parameters are only
temporarily adopted by the processor unit and are only
valid for the current session or until the processor unit is
restarted.
Max. EPC length (read only)
Parameter-ID:
0003
hex
The parameter Max. EPC length specifies which maximum
number of bytes of the EPC memory area is transferred by
the processor unit.
If data carriers are read whose EPC is longer than the set
Max. EPC length, the read EPC is limited to the set
number of bytes.
The parameter Max. EPC length is only used for
compatibility with other BIS U processor units
and cannot be changed. The value is fixed at
496 bits.

& power
After switching on or restarting the processor unit, the
current transmitting power is taken from the expert
parameter Transmitting power on read (default). Depending
on the requirements, the transmitting power can be
temporarily changed via the parameter Transmitting power
on read (current). The setting is retained until it is changed
again or the processor unit is restarted.
The set transmitting power is used for read operation.
The desired power in quarter dBm is applied as the
parameter value.
Parameter value = P(dBm) × 4

Depending on the device variant, the specifica-
tions for the transmitting power are to be under-
stood as ERP values (Equivalent Radiated
Power) or EIRP values (Equivalent Isotropically
Radiated Power). The respective valid informa-
tion can be found in the information sheet on
conformity and approvals.
