The processor unit supports UHF data carriers according
to ISO 18000-63 and EPCglobal
Important fundamentals on memory banks and their
protection status are stated below. More in-depth
information on the function of UHF data carriers can be
found in the UHF RFID standards mentioned above.
The memory organization of UHF data carriers provides for
different memory areas (memory banks) depending on the
design:
– Reserved
– EPC
– TID
– USER
The allocation and the size of the respective
memory banks can be found in the data sheet
of the data carrier used.
The EPC and USER memory areas (if available) are
available to be edited freely.
The TID memory bank is read-only.
The reserved memory area is intended for passwords. An
access password and a kill password can be stored in it
(see Lock and Kill commands).
The access password allows reading or writing to memory
areas whose protection status requires a password.
The security status for the two passwords in the reserved
memory bank can be set individually as follows:
