The global parameter Active antennas can be used to
specify which of the four antennas are to be activated or
deactivated. The parameter is stored permanently and
retains its value even after a restart of the processor unit.
The individual antennas can be activated (1) or deactivated
(0) via a bit mask.

The processor unit has a port monitoring func-
tion which can be used to detect whether an
antenna is connected to an active antenna port.
If no antenna is connected or if there is a cable
break, a cable break message is output (see
chapter 7.4 on page 85).

The antenna gain is a physical property of the antenna that
describes how much of the supplied transmitting power is
radiated in the main beam direction. The antenna gain thus
describes the efficiency and directionality of the antenna.
Depending on the manufacturer of the antenna, the
antenna gain is specified differently in the data sheet.
