6.6.2 Strain gage full bridge for applications in areas with potentially
explosive atmospheres
You cannot use transducers with TEDS when using Zener barriers
(safety barriers).
Use the following components to connect transducers in areas with potentially
explosive atmospheres to the ClipX (measuring circuit type Ex II (1) GD, [Ex ia]
IIC):
• Safety barriers 1-SD01A from HBM (Zener barrier)
• Cable KAB7.5/00-2/2/2 from HBM, LF-ZYAECVY 3x2x0.14 mm
number 1-CABE2/20 or 1-CABE2/100, or
• Lappgroup cable (www.lappgroup.com): Li2YCYPMF 3x2x0.5 mm
The connection resistance of the sensor (or of multiple parallel configured sen-
sors) must be between 80 and 5000 Ohms. The maximum line length is 100 m.

Important: When connecting cable lengths > 50 m, you must connect
the sense leads to the ClipX using one resistor each with half the
value of the bridge resistance (1/2 R
