Updating the firmware

You update the firmware in your web browser by choosing Device from the
menu – see also
Procedure for firmware update
1. Download the current firmware from the HBM website:
https://www.hbm.com/ClipX.
2. Connect your browser to the ClipX.
3. Click on Device in the menu.
4. Click on CHOOSE FIRMWARE
5. Click on UPDATE
Do not disconnect your PC from the ClipX while downloading the file! If anything
goes wrong when updating the firmware, such as if the power fails, either the
ClipX restarts with the old firmware, or the device loads and initializes the
new/loaded firmware. The ClipX is ready to run again after about five minutes. If
the update fails, repeat it. After successfully updating, wait until the device is
ready again before reconnecting. The SYS LED on the device lights up green to
indicate when the device is ready again and that all settings are valid. If settings
are invalid the LED flashes yellow or red.
All settings are retained on a firmware update. However, we recom-
mend you back up the device settings beforehand. (Device Storage
