Does the ClipX have any fuses that need changing?
No. The ClipX has an internal current limiter to automatically regulate the power
consumption in the event of a fault.
Are there any moving parts that would have to be maintained?
No. The ClipX manages without fans and the like, and is maintenance free.
Are the plugs protected to prevent accidental interchanging?
At the time of delivery, no. But you can use the supplied coding pins to code the
plugs and so protect them against accidental interchanging.
What connector options are available?
The multipoint connectors are supplied as standard in the form of push-in termi-
nal connectors. You can order screw-type plug terminals, for example from
Phoenix Contact – see "Electrical connections, LEDs" on page 21.
What are the options for adjusting the measuring amplifiers?
You have three options:
1. Use sensors with TEDS (Transducer Electronic Datasheet).
2. Enter sensor sensitivity values (zero point/span) as numerical values.
3. Calibrate sensor sensitivity values.
What are the options for connecting the ClipX to a web server?
You can use a direct 1:1 connection via Ethernet or an Ethernet connection over
your network – see "Connecting a web browser to the ClipX" on page 72.
Can I reset the Ethernet network settings (IP address) to their factory
defaults?
Yes. Use the push button on the front of the ClipX to do so – see "Resetting
Ethernet network settings (DHCP), enabling fixed IP address" on page 80.
