5.4. EMERGENCY POWER OFF (E.P.O.) - X8

For the Emergency Power Off switch function, connect a switch, having the properties of
an Emergency Off button, i.e. Normally Closed, held open mechanically when activated,

max. connection length 50m, and min. wire cross section 0.75mm between the contacts

of X8 (not supplied). Connection via 2 terminals, max. capacity 0.75 mm .
In order that the safety of the wiring installation comply to the European Harmonized Doc-
ENG
ument HD384-4-46 S1, an Emergency Switching Device (E.S.D.) shall be fitted down-
stream of the UPS.
As soon as the cause for the emergency which triggered the switch is removed, switch off
all UPS switches (input, output, battery disconnector, and all external battery switches) and
repeat the start-up procedure as described in "Normal and safe operation" on page 27.
Notice
The interface cables must be shielded and located away from the power cables (min.
20 cm). The shield must be connected at both ends. Control and power cables must cross
at a 90° angle.
