When recharging, observe the indications on the packaging
Exchanging batteries
Notice
Before replacing batteries, both the batteries in the cubicle, as well as those to be installed must
be fully charged.
Connecting external batteries
Warning
If a battery has been disconnected and is to be reconnected, the battery isolator may only be re-
connected after you have made certain that voltage with the correct polarity is present in the in-
termediate circuit (see "Connecting the batteries" on page 18).
4.10. BACKFEED PROTECTION
This feature of 70-NET shall prevent any potential risk from electric shock on the UPS
bypass input AC terminals in the event of failure of the bypass static switch SCR.
Installation of backfeed protection
On customers side an additional external isolation device (magnetic contactor, MC or min-
imum voltage tripping device) must be provided as shown in para. 11 below. The isolation
device must be able to carry the UPS input current (see resp. table of basic UPS operating
instructions).
The isolation device has to be installed in the bypass source path if two mains supplies are
available (see 5.1.4 of IEC/EN 62040-1-1).
