Operation and content of the ClipX-FIFO

Use the ClipX-FIFO to record measurement values over a period of time or during an
interesting process step. The control system can then read out the values via the Ether-
net interface or one of the fieldbuses. You can have the recording performed continu-
ously on a start signal or control it via various trigger conditions. Up to 1000 measured
values (4000 from firmware 2.0) each from 6 different signal sources (gross, net, ClipX
bus, etc.) are recorded. The oldest values are overwritten when all memory locations are
occupied. At the same time the overflow bit is set (FIFO control flags). The maximum
recording speed is 1000 values per second. You can also have recorded a value from all
signal sources every 10 seconds (recording rate 0.1/s) or if the source signal changes
by a certain amount.
With a high CPU load, e.g. during a parameter set change, there is the danger
that no FIFO entries are made. Also the time channel could then contain
wrong values, since the counting up of the milliseconds in the time channel
is also omitted in this case.
You can start a continuous recording or choose between two variants for trigger-con-
trolled recording:
