How high is the resolution and accuracy of the ClipX?
The measurement channels have 32-bit resolution. This allows even very small signals
in the partial-load range to be measured accurately and reliably. The accuracy class of
full bridge strain gages is 0.01%.
Can the channels of adjacent ClipX devices be offset?
Yes. The value transmitted over the ClipX bus of a ClipX can be processed, i.e in calcula-
tions or functions such as peak value, captured values, etc. Note that the values from
the ClipX bus might have a delay of up to 1 ms relative to your own values.
How many parameter sets/measurement programs are there in the ClipX, and how long
are the switching times?
A maximum of 10 parameter sets can be used in the ClipX. The switching time is nor-
mally 0.1 s. If sensor inputs, measuring range or filters are changed, the ClipX waits
2.5 s before outputting measured values again. This suppresses any switching peaks
and transient responses.
What happens if the power supply fails while a parameter set is being saved?
The parameter set will be destroyed, and after restarting the ClipX is returned to its fac-
tory settings. To avoid this, we recommend backing up the device settings to PC.
What happens if the power supply fails during a firmware update?
If anything goes wrong when updating the firmware, such as if the power fails, either the
ClipX restarts with the old firmware, or the device loads and initializes the new/loaded
firmware. The ClipX is ready to run again after about five minutes. If the update fails,
repeat it.
