PERATION VIA
Access via Ethernet (independently of the web browser) is available as from
firmware version 1.2. OPC UA is only available as from hardware version 2.0,
and firmware version 1.4; PPMP is available as from firmware version 2.8.
You can
simultaneously make two connections to the ClipX's web server, one TCP/IP
connection and two OPC UA connections, or
you can simultaneously make two connections to the ClipX's web server,
one TCP/IP connection and one PPMP connection.
You can also operate the ClipX with no fieldbus, or in addition to the fieldbus via the
Ethernet port on X1. When operating simultaneously via fieldbus and Ethernet, you must
make sure you do not access the same settings simultaneously, as the same resources
(buffer memory etc.) are used internally for all variants. The behavior of the ClipX will
otherwise not be defined, and might result in malfunctions and corrupted data.
Except with PPMP, you can also send data (over two channels) to the ClipX. The data is
then displayed in the browser, and can also be polled over the fieldbuses.
8.1

Accessing via standard Ethernet and object dictionary

You can also send the commands and functions provided via the Ethernet port at X1 to
the ClipX. The ClipX only supports one client at a time via Ethernet; multiple connections
are not possible. The connection to the web server in the ClipX can also be made
through a browser (Firefox, Edge, Chrome, etc.), and is independent of this Ethernet con-
nection – see also
Important: Access cannot be protected by password or https. Make sure
that no unauthorized access is possible over the network.
Sending commands
To send commands:
1.
Send the data via Ethernet port 55.000.
2.
All send sequences must be terminated by LF (Line Feed, ASCII 10) or- CRLF (Car-
