LECTRICAL CONNECTIONS
The ClipX features IP20 protection in accordance with EN 60529 (protection against
touch by fingers; protection against foreign bodies of Ø > 12 mm).
The ClipX is supplied as standard with easy-fit push-in plug terminals. But you can also
obtain screw-type terminals from Phoenix Contact (https://www.phoenixcontact.com)
(BK = black variant), e.g.:
– MC 1.5/3-ST-3.5 BK for the analog output,
– MC 1.5/12-ST-3.5 BK for the power supply, digital I/O, ClipX bus and synchroniza-
tion of the CF amplifiers,
– MC 1.5/13-ST-3.5 BK for connection of sensors.
Other variants, such as with locking clips, are also available from Phoenix Contact, e.g.
MCVW 1.5/..., MCVR 1.5/..., FK-MCP 1.5/...
The clamping area for the plug terminals is 0.2 mm
you need to connect multiple wires to one terminal, adapt the wire cross-sections
accordingly. Use 10 mm wire end ferrules (without plastic collars) to connect the wires
to the terminals wherever possible.
Notice
The plug terminals are not protected against incorrect connection ex works. Incorrect
connection of the plugs can result in damage to the ClipX.
Use the enclosed coding pins to prevent incorrect connection.
The plug terminals can be protected against incorrect connection by coding pins. To do
this, fully insert a coding pin into one of the slots in the device sockets and break it off
from the holder. Use a different slot for each plug terminal and transducer type. You can
also use more than one coding pin for a plug terminal.
