Step
5. Activate the manual
fuel supply pump.
6. Open the isolating valve on the suction side of the pump.
Close the isolating valve on the discharge side of the pump.
Open the isolating valve of the test pipe.
7. Open the cabinet door,
and insert circuit
breaker F7. Close the
cabinet door.
8. If the indicator lights
are on, start the diesel
engine manually by
pressing [Test,
emergency start 1] or
[Test, emergency
start 2].
If the indicator lights
are not on, start the
diesel engine manually
by pressing
[Start engine].
Note: If the engine does not start, check the fault indications
and instructions in the display. It may be necessary to vent the
fuel system. See the installation and operating instructions for
the diesel engine. For further causes, see section
finding.
9. Slowly open the isolating valve on the discharge side of the
pump. To vent, loosen the vent plug in the discharge line.
As soon as liquid escapes, retighten the air vent screw to
25 Nm (1/2") or 30 Nm (3/8"). When the pump reaches
operating pressure, open the isolating valve sufficiently to
reach the duty point. See also the installation and operating
instructions for the pump.
10. If a request for
calibration of speed is
shown in the first line
of the display, calibrate
the speed according to
section
8.2.3 Calibration of
engine
speed.

11. Compare the oil
pressure, temperature
and speed in the
display with the
nominal values.
See the installation
and operating
instructions or the data
sheet for the diesel
engine.
12. Stop the diesel engine
manually by pressing
[Stop engine].
13. Close the isolating valve of the test pipe.
The pump set is now operational and in automatic mode.
The controller is preset at the factory.
Parameters should only be changed if the engine

does not start or is difficult to start.
In connection with the startup, a final test run must be carried out
according to VdS. To do this, activate the automatic startup
command by lowering the pressure in the discharge pipe while
the fuel valve is closed. Every starting cycle consists of a 5 to
10 second starting phase followed by a pause of maximum
10 seconds. After six failed start attempts, the start failure alarm
must be activated. When the fuel valve has been opened, and the
alarm indication has been removed by pressing [R], the pump
should start properly. See also section
