9. Delivery, transport and storage
Check the controller carefully on delivery, and
transport and store it correctly before
Note
installation.
If the controller is not already mounted on the pump set, it is
delivered from the factory in an open wooden crate on a pallet.
The controller must only be transported in the
Caution
packaging. Use only suitable lifting equipment
that is in good condition.
In order to prevent damage to the controller, leave the control
cabinet in the packaging until installation.
Storage temperature: 0-40 °C.
Relative humidity:
95 %, not condensing.
10. Installation
Warning
The controller must be installed and connected in
accordance with local regulations and by
qualified personnel.
The VdS regulations regarding installation,
operation and maintenance must be observed
when the controllers are integrated into fire pump
sets within the scope of application of the VdS
(German Loss Prevention Authority).
In particular, the VdS CEA 4001 must be
observed.
10.1 Mechanical installation
Warning
Installation and operation in a potentially
explosive environment are not permissible.
Warning
The control cabinet must be placed so that water
from the pump or pipework cannot pose any
danger.
Use only suitable lifting equipment that is in
good condition. Always lift the control cabinet by
Caution
means of the lifting eyes. Close the cabinet door
before transporting control cabinet.
Pinch hazard!
The controller is only suitable for indoor installation. It must not be
exposed to direct sunlight and must be installed in a dry, well-
ventilated but frost-free room.
The controller must be placed as close to the pump as possible
and within view of the pump set. Ensure sufficient space for
installation and subsequent access to the controller and its
components, and make sure that the device is installed at the
correct height. Make sure there is sufficient air circulation for
cooling.
There are two mounting options:
1. mounting on the wall
2. mounting on the fuel tank.
Mounting on the wall
Mount the control cabinet on the wall near the pump set by
means of screws. Drill holes into the wall according to the drilling
template on the back of the control cabinet, and use dowels and
screws of adequate size.
Warning
When drilling holes, make sure not to damage
any wires or water and gas pipes. Furthermore,
ensure safe installation.
Mounting on the fuel tank
Pump sets delivered by Grundfos have a special retainer for the
control cabinet on the fuel tank. Mount the control cabinet in the
retainer by means of suitable screws and nuts.

10.2 Electrical connection
Warning
During electrical installation, make sure that the
power supply cannot be accidentally switched
on.
Carry out the electrical connection according to local regulations.
Check that the supply voltage and frequency correspond to the
values stated on the nameplate.
The electrical connection must be made in accordance with the
wiring diagram in the control cabinet.
Procedure
•
The mains cable must be sized according to the relevant
standards, and the installation must be equipped with circuit
breakers according to the cable cross-sections. Connect the
mains cable to the main switch. Connect PE to terminal block
X0.
•
Connect pressure switches 1 and 2 to terminal block X3 in the
control cabinet. Connect pressure switch 1 to terminals 9 and
10, and pressure switch 2 to terminals 11 and 12.
•
If status and alarm indications are to be passed on to a
building management system, the following signals can be
sent via the digital outputs of terminal block X3:
Signal
Common fault
Transmission path fault
Pump running
Pump running
Mains/control voltage available
Mains/control voltage failure
Pump switched off
Pressure switch activated
Controller fault
Louvres open (optional)
Room ventilator on (optional)
Level priming tank (optional)
•
If an engine preheater is required, connect the cooling water
heater to terminal block X0. Connect L+ to terminal 1,
the neutral lead to terminal N and the protective lead to
terminal PE.
•
If louvres are used for control of air supply and air exhaust, the
louvre motors can be connected to terminal block X5.
Connect L+ from the louvre motor for air supply to terminal 1,
and L- to terminal 2. Connect L+ from the louvre motor for air
exhaust to terminal 3, and L- to terminal 4.
•
If the installation also includes a room ventilator, the ventilator
motor can also be connected to terminal block X5.
Connect L+ from the ventilator motor to terminal 5 and L- to
terminal 6.
