15. Fault finding
Warning
Only trained personnel are allowed to open the cabinet door.
Warning
Service work must be carried out by authorised personnel.
Before servicing, make sure that the pump set cannot be accidentally started.

Note
Fault
1. No power supply to
controller.
2. Engine does not start in
automatic mode despite
power supply.
3. Engine does not start in
automatic mode after six
start attempts.
4. Engine does not start in
manual mode despite
power supply.
Possible cause
a) Main switch in position "OFF".
No indicator lights on, and display not lit.
b) Main circuit breaker F1 has tripped.
c) No mains voltage or no battery connected.
No indicator lights on, and display not lit.
d) No supply voltage and no battery voltage due to
defective batteries.
Indicator lights "BATT./BATT.CHARGER
FAILURE" on, and message "Fault, battery 1" or
"Fault, battery 2" shown in display.
e) No supply voltage and no battery voltage due to
defective chargers.
Indicator lights "BATT./BATT.CHARGER
FAILURE" flashing, and message "Fault, battery 1"
or "Fault, battery 2" shown in display.
a) Fuel valve closed.
Indicator light "VALVE CLOSED" on, and message
"Valve closed" shown in display.
b) No fuel in fuel tank.
Indicator light "FUEL DEFICIENCY" on, and
message "Fuel reserve" shown in display.
c) Both pressure switches or cable to pressure switch
defective. Pressure switch incorrectly connected.
Indicator light "CONNECTION SENSOR ALARM"
on, and message "Alarm, press. 1" or "Alarm,
press. 2" shown in display.
d) Circuit breaker F7 for automatic start function has
tripped.
e) Duration of start attempts and time interval
between start attempts are not correctly set.
f)
Defective controller.
No indicator lights on, and display not lit.
a) Possible causes as mentioned under 2a) to d).
Indicator light "FAILURE TO START" on, and
message "Start failure" shown in display.
b) Duration of start attempts and time interval
between start attempts are not correctly set.
Indicator light "FAILURE TO START" on, and
message "Start failure" shown in display.
a) Fuel valve closed.
Indicator light "VALVE CLOSED" on, and message
"Valve closed" shown in display.
b) No fuel in fuel tank.
Indicator light "FUEL DEFICIENCY" on, and
message "Fuel reserve" shown in display.
Remedy
Switch on the controller by means of the main
switch.
Cut in circuit breaker F1.
Reestablish the power supply, and connect the
batteries. See section
10.2 Electrical
connection.
Check the cable and the mains connection.
Check the battery capacity and the battery
connection.
Check the charger and the wires to the charger,
and replace, if necessary.
Open the fuel valve.
Fill the fuel tank, and vent the fuel system,
if necessary. See the installation and operating
instructions for the diesel engine or the fuel
tank.
Test the pressure switches, and replace,
if necessary. Check the pressure switch
connection according to
10.2 Electrical
connection.
Cut in circuit breaker F7.
Change settings. See sections
attempt interval
and
8.2.6 Duration of start
attempts.
In case of fire, break the glass and start the
pump set with [SE1] or [SE2] (emergency start).
Observe warning indications in the display and
via the indicator lights. Remedy the cause.
Reset the warning indication requiring manual
resetting by pressing [R]. If the engine still does
not start automatically, start it by pressing ([ST1]
or [ST2]).
Change the settings. See sections

8.2.6 Duration of start
attempts. Reset the warning message "Start
failure" with [R]. If the engine still does not start
automatically, start the pump set by pressing
([ST1] or [ST2]).
Open the fuel valve.
Fill the fuel tank, and vent it, if necessary.
