Press the pushbutton "manual tool change" to loosen or to clamp the tool.

6.5.7 Tool changer
The tool disc is rotated by an electric motor and the tool is replaced by a pneumatic cylinder.
The tool change is called up in your program.
If the machine is left idle for a long time without compressed air, the tool changer can move to
an undefined position. The pneumatic cylinder has an end position damping and can thereby
move out of the end position.


Turning off the CNC- machine
Push the emergency stop push button.
For a long-term standstill of the CNC machine switch it off at the main switch.


Operational modes
Manually controlled operation
The manually controlled operation is allowed in the operating mode "JOG" and in the operating
mode "MDA". Refer to chapter 5 "Manual mode" of the operating instructions of "SINUMERIK
808D".
Automatic mode
Refer to chapter 6 "Setup machine" of the operating instructions for "SINUMERIK 808D".

Programming
For further working steps please proceed as described in the operating instructions "Part pro-
gramming, system, programming and cycles" for SINUMERIK 808D.
Manual resp. part programming:
For this kind of programming, the programs must be created manually and entered in the con-
trol. The direct programming in the DIN-Code is a complex method which requires lots of skills.
Nowadays this task is mostly taken over by CAD/CAM systems which directly create an operat-
ing program using a graphical user interface.
