in module and functions as of software version V1.1. that can be retrofitted
at any time.

PROFIBUS DP/V1 module
The PROFIBUS DP/V1 module for the LMIT09 DPV1 enables digital, interference-free
communication between a PROFIBUS master and the LMIT09 DPV1 slave.
The interface has been extensively tested for compliance with the properties and limit
values stipulated in the PROFIBUS guidelines.
In accordance with the DP/V1 specification, the interface is suitable for both cyclical and
acyclical data traffic.
The interface is structured in the form of a plug-in module. The plug-in module is
recognised automatically by means of a hardware code.
Measuring principle
The conductivity transmitter LMIT09 DPV1 operates according to the electrodeless,
inductive measuring principle. Here, a toroidal core coil which is connected as a voltage
transformer induces an alternating current in a conductor loop which is formed by the fluid
which is to be measured; this induced alternating current is directly proportional to the
electric conductivity. A second toroidal core coil which lies in the conductor loop and is
connected as a precision current transformer delivers a fraction of this alternating current
as an input signal to a subsequent measuring amplifier.

The microprocessor in the LMIT09 DPV1 uses the product tables saved in the data
memory to convert the measured conductivity values to a % by weight concentration.
A temperature sensor continuously measures the temperature of the medium being
measured. The measured values are used for compensation of the temperature-
dependent change in conductivity of the medium being measured (i.e. the fluid).
