Reprocessing

WARNING
– Before cleaning and maintenance, unplug the device from the power supply and other
devices connected to the mains.
– Do not expose or immerse the electrical components of the navigation system to liquids.
Do not place liquids on or above the devices. Liquids or incoming parts may result in
equipment damage or produce a fire or shock hazard.
Personal safety
Use the following personal protective equipment:
– single-use shirt
– single-use gloves
– safety glasses
– anti-splash mask
Refer to the user instructions of the cleaning agent and disinfectant for additional protec-
tive equipment.

7.1. Manual Cleaning and Disinfection

– Make sure that the reprocessing cycle is validated.
– Do not use any sharp objects such as metal brushes or other metal objects for manual
cleaning.
– The product cannot be sterilized.
– Reprocess devices within two hours after use.
– Reprocess devices before you return devices for service.
The cleaning and disinfection are only validated for manual processing.
For manual cleaning and disinfection, the following aids are required:
– Sterile disposables: lint-free cloth, swab, cotton swabs
– Cleaning/Disinfection aid: CaviWipes wipes
– Freshly prepared purified water, highly purified water or sterile water with less than
10 cfu/ml and 0.25 EU/ml. In the U. S., refer to AAMI TIR 34 for guidance on water
quality
– Sterile-filtered compressed air
7.1.1. Manual Cleaning and Disinfection
– Pay attention to the instructions provided by the cleaning solution and disinfectant
manufacturer.
– Do not use an ultrasonic bath to clean the product.
– For cleaning, only use soft, clean cloths and/or swabs that are suitable for the pur-
pose. Never use metal brushes or wire wool.
