5. Take off the axle nuts and the washers.
6. Pull out the rear wheel from the drop-out.
INSTALLING THE REAR WHEEL
1. Place the chain on the pinion.
2. Place the rear wheel into the drop-out. Ensure that the wheel
is placed straight in the holder.
3. Push the shifting protection bracket (if present) and the wash-
ers onto the axle.
4. For models without quick clamp: Attach the wheel with the axle
nuts on both sides with an 18 mm wrench. Tighten the axle
nuts (s. chapter Torque specifications).
For models with quick clamp: Close the quick clamp properly
(s. chapter Quick clamp).
5. Plug in the plug of the motor cable (model with rear wheel mo-
tor).
6. V-brake rim brake: Connect the brake cable
Hydraulic rim brake: Push the brake cylinder

7. Hydraulic rim brake: Close the quick-clamping lever
[CLOSE]. If the lever closes too easily, the quick-clamping screw
must be adjusted (see chapter Brakes).
8. Check that the brake works properly and adjust it if necessary
(s. chapter Brake).
9. Set the gearshift (s. chapter Gearshift).
