Crankshaft Sleeve
1. Check the wear on the crankshaft sleeve.
2. If the wear exceeds the allowable limit or when the engine

• Break apart and remove the used crankshaft sleeve and
install a new one using the crank sleeve setter.

• The sleeve must be heated to between 150 and 250°C
(302 and 482

F) before it is installed.
Piston Pin-Hole
1. Measure the I.D. of piston pin-hole lengthwise and width
wise of the piston with a cylinder gauge.
2. If the measurement exceeds the allowable limit, replace
the piston.

Clearance between Piston Pin and
1. Measure the O. D. of the piston pin with an outside micro
meter.
2. Measure the I.D. of the piston pin bushing with a cylinder
gauge.
3. If the clearance exceeds the allowable limit, replace the
bushing.
4. If the clearance still exceeds the allowable limit after re
placing the bushing, replace the piston pin_
