Special Functions

8.4.1 Reset and Deletion

It may be sometimes necessary to be able to set a navigation receiver to a known, definite
condition:
If you wish to program your own functions, then we recommend that the pre-set factory pro-
grams are deleted. Otherwise your own desired functions may be corrupted.
If you have a navigation receiver in an undefined condition, it will probably be better to reset
it back to the delivered condition, and then simply delete the contents. By reconstructing the
delivered condition you know then exactly which functions have been pre-programmed. In
this state, you can also test the function of the receiver.
Resetting or similarly deletion is carried out by programming a special operation style in
LNCV2 of your navigation receiver. There are 4 different possibilities to make a reset or simi-
larly deletions. To do so, you can select one of the options shown in the following table:

8.4.2 Stopping at an exact position at a Signal

Extending the slow-down section to an exact stopping position
In the chapter covering shuttle stretches, station stops, block systems and track managers
we have described how every vehicle when passing over the sensors, will start braking
straight away with its own pre-set inertia until it comes to a halt.
Therefore, the position where a vehicle will come to a halt is dependent upon its speed when
entering the block section and also on the type of the vehicle as well as its inertia level. Every
loco will come to a halt at its own different position.
This sequence can now be modified slightly, so that the sensors are no longer mounted as
double-sensors, one sleeper's distance apart, but in this case as an exception, mounted furt-
her away from each other: on passing over the first sensor, the loco will start braking down
to a settable block-speed (the corresponding speed step is the same for all locos) and rolls
along at this lower speed to the second sensor where it will be brought to a halt. By running
with a slower speed, a stopping position can be created where all vehicles will stop at the
same position, provided that the block-speed selected is not too high.
