Once the navigation transmitter has been installed under a digital loco, it is programmed
together with the loco using the CVs as per column „CV as loco" or via the register-number.
It is therefore important to note that the loco-decoder must undergo the same programming
sequence. FLEISCHMANN-decoders recognise both CV and register programming sequen-
ces.
However, the navigation transmitter can also be programmed separately from the loco-deco-
der if the CVs as per column „CV extra" are used.
Important info
There are some makes of loco-decoders which use the CVs as per the column „CV
extra", but with a completely different meaning. In this case, the navigation transmitter
can only be programmed together with the loco.
The navigation transmitter may also be used under locos that have no DCC-programming
sequence capability, i.e. FMZ-locos, or even under wagons with power pick-up but comple-
tely without a loco-decoder. It is then programmed using one of the above described pro-
gramming sequences to the address of the loco or a wagon address.
The CVs or register of the navigation transmitter can also be read using the TWIN-CENTER
(see handbook 6890). If it has been installed in a loco, then it will be read parallel to the given
loco decoder. This can lead to an error message, especially when the loco-decoder and the
navigation transmitter have different CV values or registers to each other. In this case, in
order to read, then the power wires of the loco-decoder need to be separated, or better
would be to unplug the decoder from the decoder socket. The readout of the values of the
navigation transmitter under a wagon is however, possible.
Advice
In order to program a decoder, the vehicle must always be alone on the programming
track of your TWIN-CENTER. If you have several vehicles on the programming track,
then all loco-decoders and all navigation transmitters will be programmed the same!
Advice
To program long address, please use the menu of your TWIN-CENTER. Because this
menu uses the programming sequence for loco-decoders, then the navigation transmit-
ter when built into a DCC-loco, will always be programmed in common with the loco-
decoder. It is not possible then to make a separate programming.
Categories
CV115 contains the specification of a train category. What is that?
Categories are different characteristics which you can give to your vehicles and use to con-
trol your layout as you wish. For example: red, black, green or yellow locos, or naturally
something which makes more sense: goods train, express train, regional train, excursion
train. You can even segregate your wagons into separate categories: i.e. oil tankers, beer
vans, refrigerated wagons, hopper wagons. You can select the categories as desired as
there are almost no boundaries to your fantasies. Your vehicles, or your trains, can be clas-
sified into a maximum of four categories. The navigation receiver will then later carry out its
stored commands not only according to the recognised addresses, but also according to
which individual category.
