If the Mini Remote/Mini Remote Dropbar control unit has
not already been connected to the Kiox 400C by the special-
ist retailer, proceed as follows:
1. First connect your smartphone to the Kiox 400C via
the eBike Flow app (see "Establishing a smartphone
connection", page English – 8).
2. In the eBike Flow app, select <Settings> → <My
eBike> → <eBike pass> → <Components> → <Add
new device>. Then select <Mini Remote/Mini Remote
Dropbar>.
3. Mini Remote/Mini Remote Dropbar: Start the pairing
process by pressing any button until the pairing process
is shown by the LED indicator light flashing blue.
4. Follow the instructions in the eBike Flow app.
If pairing is successful, this is shown within 30 s on the Mini
Remote/Mini Remote Dropbar control unit by the LED in-
dicator light flashing green three times.
If the connection cannot be established, this is shown by the
LED indicator light flashing red three times. Repeat the con-
nection process.
If you want to connect the Mini Remote/Mini Remote Drop-
bar control unit to a Kiox 400C on another eBike, the follow-
ing steps must be carried out:
1. First connect your smartphone to the Kiox 400C via
the eBike Flow app (see "Establishing a smartphone
connection", page English – 8).
2. In the eBike Flow app, select <Settings> → <My
eBike> → <eBike pass> → <Components> → <Add
new device>. Then select <Mini Remote/Mini Remote
Dropbar>.
3. Mini Remote/Mini Remote Dropbar: Remove the coin
cell from the Mini Remote/Mini Remote Dropbar con-
trol unit and wait for at least 30 s. Reinsert the coin cell
and wait until the LED indicator light flashes green.
4. Within the next 10 s, press and hold the decrease as-
sistance level button – (8) for 5 s.
The pairing process is shown by the LED indicator light
flashing blue for 30 s.
5. Follow the instructions in the eBike Flow app.
If pairing is successful, this is shown within 30 s on
the Mini Remote/Mini Remote Dropbar control unit by
the LED indicator light flashing green three times. If the
connection cannot be established, this is shown by the
LED indicator light flashing red three times. Repeat the
process again from step 2.
Activity tracking
In order to record activities, it is necessary to register and
log into the eBike Flow app.
To record activities, you must consent to the storage of your
location data in the app. Without this, your activities cannot
be recorded in the app. For location data to be recorded,
you must be logged in to a user account.

eBike Lock
<eBike Lock> can be set up for each eBike via the eBike
Flow app under <Settings> → <My eBike> → <Lock &
Alarm>. In the process, a key for unlocking the eBike is
saved on the smartphone and/or the Kiox 300/Kiox 500
display.
The <eBike Lock> is automatically enabled in the following
cases:
– The eBike is switched off via the control unit
– The eBike is switched off automatically
If the eBike is switched on and the smartphone is connected
to the eBike via Bluetooth®, or the pre-set display is fitted in
the holder, the eBike will be unlocked.
<eBike Lock> is linked to your user account.
If you lose your smartphone, you can log in to your user ac-
count on the eBike Flow app using another smartphone and
then unlock the eBike.
If the display is lost, you can reset all the digital keys in
the <Lock & Alarm> menu item in the eBike Flow app.
Caution! If you select a setting in the app that could have
negative consequences in combination with the <eBike
Lock> (e.g. deleting your eBike or user account), you will be
shown warning messages beforehand. Please read through
these thoroughly and adhere to the warnings that are is-
sued (e.g. before deleting your eBike or user account).
Setting Up the <eBike Lock>
In order to be able to set up the <eBike Lock>, the following
conditions must be fulfilled:
– The eBike Flow app is installed.
– A user account has been created.
– The eBike is not currently updating.
– The eBike is connected to the smartphone via Bluetooth®.
– The eBike is stationary.
– The smartphone is connected to the Internet.
– The eBike battery is sufficiently charged and the charging
cable is not connected.
The <eBike Lock> can be set up in the eBike Flow app in
the <Lock & Alarm> menu item.
The drive unit of your eBike only provides support if the
smartphone is connected to the eBike via Bluetooth® or the
display is placed in the holder when the eBike is switched
on. If the smartphone is used as a key, Bluetooth® must be
switched ON on your smartphone and the eBike Flow app
must be active in the background. When the <eBike Lock>
is activated, you can continue to use your eBike without as-
sistance from the drive unit.
Compatibility
The <eBike Lock> is compatible with all Bosch drive units
from the system generation the smart system.
How it Works
In combination with the <eBike Lock>, the smartphone and
the display work like a key for the drive unit. The <eBike
Lock> is activated by switching off the eBike. When switch-
ing on, the eBike checks if any pre-set key is available. This is
indicated by a padlock symbol on the Kiox 400C control
unit.
