Switching Bicycle Lights On and Off (Mini
Remote/Mini Remote Dropbar only)
Check that your bike lights are working correctly before
every use.
To switch on/off the bike lights, press and hold the bicycle
lights (6) button for more than 1 s.
Switching the Walk Assistance On and Off
The walk assistance makes it easier to push your eBike. The
maximum speed of the walk assistance is 4 km/h. The bi-
cycle manufacturer can adjust the default so that it is lower
and, if necessary, it can also be adjusted by a service centre.
The push assistance function must only be used when
u
pushing the eBike. There is a risk of injury if the wheels
of the eBike are not in contact with the ground while using
the push assistance.
If the selected gear is too high, the eBike's drive unit
u
cannot move and the roll-away lock cannot engage.
To start walk assistance, press the walk assistance (8) but-
ton for more than 1 s, keep it pressed and follow the instruc-
tions on the display screen.
To activate walk assistance, one of the following actions
must occur within the next 10 s:
– Push the eBike forwards.
– Push the eBike backwards.
– Perform a sideways tilting movement with the eBike.
After activation, the drive begins to push and the indicator
on the display screen changes.
If you release the walk assistance (8) button, walk assist-
ance is stopped. You can reactivate walk assistance within
10 s by pressing the walk assistance (8) button.
If you do not reactivate walk assistance within 10 s, walk as-
sistance automatically switches off.
Walk assistance is always ended if:
– The rear wheel jams,
– The bicycle cannot move over ridges,
– A body part is blocking the bike crank,
– An obstacle continues to turn the crank,
– You start pedalling,
– The increase assistance level +/bicycle lights (6) button
or on/off button (11) is pressed.
Walk assistance has a roll-away lock, i.e. even after walk as-
sistance has been used, rolling backwards is actively curbed
by the drive for a few seconds, and you cannot push the
eBike backwards or can only do so with difficulty.
The roll-away lock is immediately deactivated by pressing
the increase assistance level +/bicycle lights (6) button.
The push assistance function is subject to local regulations;
the way it works may therefore differ from the description
above, or the function may even be deactivated completely.

Note: Follow the order for actions when activating the hill-
start assist button. The walk assistance will activate if you
first press the hill-start assist button (8) and then place your
foot on the pedal.
Once you have successfully activated hill-start assist, let go
of the hill-start assist button (8) again. Once you have safely
started riding, the hill-start assist will deactivate automatic-
ally and you will continue riding in the set riding mode. You
can end hill-start assist at any time by taking your foot off the
pedal.
You can then reactivate hill-start assist within 10 s by placing
your foot back on the pedal. This will be shown on your dis-
play screen accordingly. It is not necessary to press the hill-
start assist button (8) again. If you press the hill-start assist
button (8) within 10 s, the countdown will be reset once and
you will again have 10 s to activate hill-start assist.
Hill-start assist has a roll-away lock, i.e. even after hill-start
assist has been used, rolling backwards is actively curbed by
the drive for a few seconds, and this prevents the eBike from
rolling backwards unintentionally.
The hill-start assist function is subject to local regulations;
the way it works may therefore differ from the description
above, or the function may even be deactivated completely.
ABS – anti-lock braking system (optional)
If the eBike is fitted with a Bosch eBike ABS from the system
generation the smart system, the ABS symbol lights up
when the eBike system starts.
After moving off, the ABS internally checks its functionality
and the ABS symbol goes off.
In the event of an error, the ABS symbol lights up and a mes-
sage appears on the control unit. This means that the ABS is
inactive. You can press the select button (7) to acknowledge
the error and the ABS error message disappears. The ABS
symbol appears in the statusbar to notify you that the ABS is
still switched off.
For details on the ABS and how it works, please refer to the
ABS operating instructions.
