WARNING:

WARNING:
To prevent accidental starting that could cause
serious personal injury, always disconnect the
engine spark plug wire from the spark plug and
remove battery pack when assembling parts.
INSTALLING THE POWER HEAD SHAFT TO THE
ATTACHMENT
See Figure 2.
WARNING:
Never install, remove, or adjust any attachment
while power head is running. Failure to stop the
engine can cause serious personal injury.
The attachment connects to the power head shaft by
means of a coupler device.
Loosen the Wing Screw on the coupler of the
Q
power head shaft and remove the end cap from the
attachment.
Push in the button located on the attachment shaft.
Q
Align the button with the guide recess on the power
head coupler and slide the two shafts together. Rotate
the attachment shaft until the button locks into the
positioning hole.
NOTE: If the button does not release completely in the
positioning hole, the shafts are not locked into place.
Slightly rotate from side to side until the button is locked
into place.
Tighten the Wing Screw securely.

WARNING:
Be certain the Wing Screw is fully tightened
before operating equipment; check it periodically
for tightness during use to avoid serious personal
injury.
REMOVING THE ATTACHMENT FROM THE POWER
HEAD
For removing or changing the attachment:
Loosen the Wing Screw.
Q
Push in the button and twist the shafts to remove and
Q
separate ends.
ATTACHING THE HANGER CAP

There are two ways to hang your attachment for storage.
To use the hanger cap, push in the button and place
Q
the hanger cap over end of the lower end attachment
shaft. Slightly rotate the cap from side to side until the
button locks into place.
The secondary hole in the attachment shaft can be
Q
used for hanging purposes as well.
ATTACHING THE FRONT HANDLE
See Figure 4.
Remove wing nut, washer, and bolt from the front
Q
handle.
Install the front handle onto the top side of the drive
Q
shaft housing.
NOTE: The front handle should tilt slightly towards the
operator when correctly fitted.
Place the bolt through the front handle and securely
Q
tighten them into the captive nuts on the bracket.
WARNING:
The line cutting blade on the grass deflector is
sharp. Avoid contact with the blade. Failure to
avoid contact can result in serious personal injury.
ATTACHING THE GRASS DEFLECTOR
See Figure 5.
1. Assembling the Grass deflector ( 16 ) to into the
tab on the drive shaft ( 3) and make sure the bolt
complete into the slot of the tab.
2. Use the wrench to tighten the nut ( 33) securely with
clockwise.
INSTALLING REEL EASY STRING HEAD
Open the Reel Easy Line Trimmer Head by
Q
depressing the latches on each side. The contents of
the line trimmer head are spring loaded, so keep your
other hand over the line trimmer head cover while
depressing the latches.
Remove the line trimmer head cover, knob, and spool
Q
and set aside.
Place the line trimmer head on the drive shaft. Make
Q
sure the line trimmer head is fully seated.
Install the hex bolt into the opening on the drive shaft
Q
and secure using the hex-shaped opening in the knob
to tighten.
NOTE: Only use the knob to tighten the bolt. The use
of other tools may allow over tightening of the bolt,
which could damage the line trimmer head.
Reinstall the spring into the line trimmer head and
Q
push down to seat.
Reinstall the spool. For the RLT30CES curved line
Q
trimmer attachment, the spool should be placed so
"This side out for curved shaft" is visible. If you are
