16. Never pour or splash water or any other liquid on
the unit. Keep handlebars dry, clean and free of
deposits. Clean after each use.
17. Adhere to laws and regulations concerning the
proper disposal of fuel, oil, etc., in order to protect
the environment.
18. Keep the machine out of the reach of children
when not in use and do not allow persons unfamil-
iar with the machine or these instructions to oper-
ate the machine. The machine is dangerous in the
hands of untrained users.
19. For safety reasons, the fuel tank and fuel cap must
be replaced (regularly). To do this, contact a spe-
cialist workshop.
20. Have damaged exhaust silencers replaced by a
specialist workshop.
Corrective maintenance instructions
Switch off the motor prior to cleaning, repairing, in-
specting or adjusting the machine and ensure that all
parts in motion have been stopped. Disconnect the ig-
nition cable and position the cable away from the spark
plug in order to prevent accidental starting.
Have the machine repaired by qualified personnel us-
ing only original spare parts.
This ensures that the safety of the machine is main-
tained.
Special safety regulations for petrol motor hoes
1.
Carefully check the soil to be worked and remove
debris and hard or sharp objects such as stones,
sticks, glass, wire, bones or similar.
2.
Do not operate the petrol motor hoe on soils with
large stones or foreign objects that could damage
the machine.
3.
Do not work over buried electric cables, telephone
lines, water and gas pipes, tubes or hoses. If in
doubt, contact the utility company or local tele-
phone provider to locate buried service lines.
4.
Bystanders, children and animals must keep a
minimum distance of 23 m. Stop the device imme-
diately if a person approaches.
5.
Adapt your working method to the local conditions
and the device's performance.
6.
This device is equipped with a clutch. Press the
clutch lever and check that it automatically returns
to its initial position. If this is not the case, the unit
must be re-set by qualified personnel.

Disengage the clutch before starting the engine.

Carefully start the engine in accordance with the
instructions. Position feet at an appropriate dis-
tance from the rotavator cutters.

The rotavator cutters do not move when the clutch
is disengaged. If this is not the case, the unit must
be re-set by qualified personnel.
10. Always operate the machine from behind. Never
walk or stand in front of the machine when the en-
gine is running.
11. Always hold the unit with both hands during opera-
tion. Hold the handlebars firmly.
12. Be aware that the machine may unexpectedly
jump up or forward if the rotavator cutters encoun-
ter buried obstacles such as large stones, roots or
tree stumps.
13. If the unit hits a foreign object, stop the engine, dis-
connect the spark plug, check the machine for any
damage and repair the damage before restarting
and operating the machine.
14. Exercise extreme caution when working back-
wards or pulling the machine towards you.
15. Do not overload the capacity of the machine by
working too deep or too fast in one go.
16. Never operate the petrol motor hoe at excessive
transport speeds on hard or slippery surfaces.
17. Proceed with caution when working on hard
ground. The rotavator cutters can get stuck in the
ground and propel the petrol motor hoe forward. If
this is the case, release the handlebars and do not
hold the machine.
18. Exercise caution when working near fences, build-
ings or buried service lines. The rotating rotavator
cutters can cause damage to property or personal
injury.
19. Exercise extreme caution when working on or over
gravel driveways, paths or roads. Watch out for un-
seen hazards and traffic. Do not carry passengers.
20. Never leave the working position when the engine
is running.
21. Always stop the engine if work is delayed or you
are moving from one working location to the next.
22. Keep the unit clean of plants and other materials.
They can get caught in the rotavator cutters. Stop
the engine and disconnect the spark plug before
cleaning the rotavator cutters.
