Ensure the battery cables are long enough to reach the speed controller connections. Flip the rechargeable bat-

teries over if necessary.
Attention!
Do not yet connect the rechargeable batteries to the speed controller!
Once you have determined the optimum battery position, pull the two long hook-and-loop straps (B) tight and

then the four hook-and-loop straps (A). The strap guide loop can be positioned differently by adjusting the hook-
and-loop strap.
Ensure the two drive batteries are secure and properly positioned.

14.4 Connecting the two drive batteries to the speed controller

Attention!
In order to prevent the wheels from unintentional turning and thus an uncontrolled movement of the model
(e.g. if the drive trim is adjusted), place the model vehicle on a suitable surface so that the wheels can turn
freely in the event of a fault. Do not reach into the drive. Do not hold the wheels.
If you have not already done so, power up the transmitter (see section 11).

Now connect the two drive batteries to the speed controller. Ensure the correct polarity (note the "+" and "-" inscrip-

tions on the sides of the XT-90 connections; the flat side must lead "+"). One of the two XT-90 connections has two
red cables due to the series connection to the Y-cable of the speed controller.
Connecting the second drive battery can cause a small electrical discharge (small spark or cracking
sound) in the connector. This is due to the prompt charging of the capacitor in the speed controller when
the battery is connected and is, therefore, not a defect or error. This causes no harm to the rechargeable
batteries or the speed controller.
Do not use force when plugging the rechargeable battery into the speed controller. Make sure that the cable can-

not get into the vehicle's drive or into the steering mechanism. If necessary, use cable ties to fasten the cables.

14.5 Switching the speed controller on/off

Briefly pressing the on/off switch (A) turns the speed controller on (see fig. 4).
A red LED on the switch lights up. Then wait a few seconds (leave the throt-
tle lever on the transmitter in the neutral position, do not move it). The speed
controller measures the battery voltage; the motor beeps in response, and the
green LED on the speed controller flashes.
4x beeps + green LED flashes 4 times:

Battery voltage 13.2.....<17.6 V, 4-cell LiPo drive battery
6x beeps + green LED flashes 6 times:

Battery voltage 17.6.....<26.2 V: 6-cell LiPo drive battery
Important!
The undervoltage detection feature works by detecting the battery voltage when the speed controller is
switched on. (The undervoltage detection feature switches off the drive when the LiPo rechargeable bat-
tery is empty to prevent its deep discharge.) Therefore, only connect two fully charged drive batteries to
the speed controller.
