15.2 Programming additional functions

By default, the speed controller is preprogrammed with the optimal settings.
When using lithium rechargeable batteries, always ensure the undervoltage protection is activated (we
recommend 3.2 V/cell for LiPo drive batteries). If undervoltage protection is disabled, the rechargeable
battery may be rendered unusable due to deep discharge.
When using NiMH drive batteries, be sure to disable the undervoltage detection or set it to a lower value.
Programming can be carried out quite easily using the setup button; proceed as follows:
Turn off the speed controller and the transmitter.
Place the vehicle on a stable surface so that the wheels can turn freely.
Turn on the transmitter and leave the throttle in the neutral (middle) position.
Keep the setup button (B) pressed and switch on the speed controller using
the on/off switch (A) as usual.
Keep holding down the setup button (B).
The LED on the speed controller will flash red, and the motor will beep
(keep holding down the setup button (B)).
Beeps are generated by a brief activation of the brushless motor.
This beep can be very quiet depending on the engine. If this is the
case, note the LEDs indication on the speed controller.
The LED will start to flash green after a few seconds (keep holding down the setup button (B)). The flashing green
lights (and beeps) indicate which of the 5 setup functions is selected (see the 3 columns on the left):
The values highlighted in grey are the manufacturer's default settings at the time of drawing up these
operating instructions. If your vehicle's speed controller has a different basic setting, pay attention to the
flashing lights/beeps.
More details on the setup functions can be found on the next pages.
To change the desired setup function (e.g. motor brake, green LED flashes twice + motor beeps twice), release
the setup button (B).
The LED now flashes red (beeps are emitted at the same time). The number of flashing red lights indicates which
setting value is active (e.g. motor brake 0%, red LED flashes once briefly + motor beeps once).
Briefly pressing the setup button (B) changes the setting; the number of flashing red LED (and motor beeps)
changes accordingly.
To exit the settings mode and save the configuration, turn off the speed controller (press the on/off switch (A) for
approx. 1 second and wait until the LED on the switch goes off). If you then turn on the speed controller, it will be
ready for operation with the new settings.
If you want to change another setting, proceed as described above (keep the setup button (B) pressed and turn
on the speed controller, etc.).
