12 Receiver gyro function

The receiver has an integrated gyro. It acts on the steering servo output so that the vehicle is automatically counter-
steered if its rear gets out of control. You can select 8 different sensitivity levels for the gyro or switch it off.

12.1 Switching gyro function on/off

Please note:
The receiver gyro comes already switched on upon delivery.
Proceed as follows:
Switch off the speed controller.

Switch off the transmitter.

Place the vehicle on a stable surface so that the wheels can turn freely.

Attention!
During switchover, the motor starts up briefly. Do not reach into the drive. Do not hold the wheels.
The flashing receiver LED indicates whether the gyro is activated or not. You can also use a function test de-

scribed below to determine whether the gyro is enabled or disabled.
To check the flashing lights on the receiver, open the receiver box by loosening the 3 screws fixing the
cover, and remove the cover. You can take the receiver out of its box for better recognition of the flashing
lights (remember the orientation); position the receiver horizontally near the receiver box. Use a piece of
the adhesive tape to fix the receiver in place.
Turn on the transmitter and then the vehicle. Wait until the vehicle is ready for operation and responds correctly to

the transmitter control signals (steering/drive function; adjust the trim for the drive function if necessary).
Release the throttle lever and the knob for the steering function on the transmitter so that they are in the middle

(neutral) position and the motor/drive does not move.
Press the "BIND" button on the transmitter three times quickly (see fig. 1, no. 3) to switch the receiver gyro on

or off.
The motor starts up briefly and then stops again. The flashing receiver LED indicates the current status:
– LED flashes once: Gyro is disabled
– LED flashes three times: Gyro is enabled
Check the gyro function by turning the vehicle chassis to the left or right (20° - 45°) to simulate a swerving vehicle

rear. The motor/drive should not necessarily be running while doing this.
With the gyro switched on, the steering servo drives the front wheels in the opposite direction. Use the
"GYRO LV / ST-D/R" knob (fig. 1, no. 11) to adjust the gyro sensitivity, as described in section 12.2.
With the gyro switched off, the position of the front wheels remains unchanged. You can now use the
"GYRO LV / ST-D/R" knob (fig. 1, no. 11) to set the dual rate for the steering function, as described in section 11.7.
First, switch off the speed controller.

Then switch the transmitter off.

Put the receiver you removed from the receiver box to check the flashing lights back into the receiver box. The

receiver must be positioned horizontally, with the sockets/plugs pointing upwards, and the lateral orientation is
irrelevant. Guide the antenna cable out of the receiver box. Stow the remaining cables in the receiver box and
close it again, taking care not to pinch any cables when screwing it shut.
Now you can turn on the transmitter and operate the vehicle.
