Determining the Sum of the Pump Tubing and Catheter Volumes
Add the pump tubing and catheter volumes together. This value will be used in
the Bridge Bolus (Bolus) calculation.

Total Volume (ml) = 0.26 ml + 0.11 ml = 0.37 ml

Changing from Lower to Higher Concentration

Whenever you change from a lower to a higher concentration of drug, the drug
remaining in the pump tubing and catheter must be accounted for to prevent
underdosing the patient. Program a Bolus (Single Bolus) Mode.
NOTE: Refer to Determining the Pump Tubing Volume and
Calculating the Catheter Volume on previous pages for
instructions on determining the total pump tubing and
catheter volumes. This calculation will be needed for Steps 1
and 2.
