CAUTION: Do not allow air into the pump's reservoir through an open
needle (Figure 4). This can result in reservoir contamination or
activation of the reservoir valve.

3. When all fluid has been removed from the pump's reservoir, remove needle
and syringe containing sterile water, while maintaining negative pressure on
the syringe.

Filling the Pump

Do not fill a pump that is not adequately warmed. Do not
CAUTION:
allow the pump to cool below 35 °C (95 °F) during the initial
fill procedure. To maintain temperature and proper reservoir
pressure of pump, fill the drug reservoir while the pump is
submerged in the sterile warm water bath.
