Before the pump is sealed in the plastic tray and sterilized, its drug reservoir is
filled with sterile water: 5 to 9 ml (for 10 ml pump models), or
13 to 17 ml (for 18 ml pump models). The titanium drug reservoir is emptied and
refilled through the self-sealing silicone septum in the raised center reservoir fill
port.
Some pumps have attached suture loops for anchoring. Pumps without suture
loops are packaged with a mesh pouch to anchor the pump in the subcutaneous
pocket. Refer to Table 2 for a complete list of pump features and the pump
models associated with them.
