DEVICE LONGEVITY
Extensive in vitro testing has been performed to establish the battery longevity of
the SynchroMed ® EL Infusion System. The results of this testing indicate that
pump longevity is limited as a function of drug delivery rate. The expected pump
service life relative to drug delivery rate is shown in Figure 9. The expected time
from the pump's Low Battery Alarm to pump stoppage, relative to the pump's
drug delivery rate, is shown in Figure 10.
