FOWLER ANGLE SENSOR REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT - (LITTER)
Tools Required:
• Stubby Phillips Screwdriver #2
• ESD System
Procedure:
1 .
Plug bed into wall outlet .
2 .
Set the brakes using one of the brake control locations or by using the manual brake pedal .
3 .
Raise the bed to the full up position and raise the patient left siderails (head end and foot end) .
4 .
If fowler motor will run, raise fowler up to approximately 20 degrees . If the fowler motor will not run, put the bed into
the calibration mode step one as shown on
5 .
Working form the left side of the bed, use a stubby Phillips screwdriver and remove the two screws securing the
fowler angle sensor to the bottom of the fowler frame .
6 .
Using an ESD system, properly ground yourself .
7 .
Unclip the three clips holding the board cover on .
8 .
Unplug the cable from the board .
9 .
Reverse the steps to install the new fowler angle sensor .
Note: Do not over-tighten the two screws.
10 . Recalibrate the bed (refer to Bed Calibration procedures on
11 . Test all bed functionality prior to putting the bed back into service .
