Initial Steps
1.
Check for obstructions in the paper path. In the case of multifeeds, check the input trays for worn separator parts. Check media for
damage.
2.
Check the condition of the media thickness sensor roller surfaces.

Set DVM to the appropriate range for the voltage.
VORSICHT!
Be careful when working around electricity.
Moving parts can cause injury.
ACHTUNG:
Do not use the frame as ground.
Recalibrate the IDO Media Thickness encoder (EN14)

Test EN14.
TIPP:
Click Subsystems, click Paper Path, and then click IDO Sensors, Solenoids, LEDs.
Does the media thickness sensor pass?
No

Test the IDO Media Thickness encoder (EN14)
1.
Open the IDO assembly.
2.
Push on the sensor roller to see if the media thickness reading changes.
TIPP:
Click Subsystems, click Paper Path, and then click IDO Sensors, Solenoids, LEDs.
Does the sensor reading change?
No

Test the voltage to the IDO Media Thickness encoder (EN14) on the Motion PCA (A2)
1.
Disconnect J8 from A2.
2.
Test the voltage to EN14 on A2: 3.13 Vdc unblocked at J8 pins 2B to 1B, 3.26 Vdc unblocked at pins 3B to 1B, and 3.13 Vdc unblocked
at pins 4B to 1B.
