Information on selection and installation
Depending on the design and manufacturer, safety edges can have different properties.
When selecting a safety edge, pay attention to the following properties:
The basic height of the safety edge when not actuated is marked 'h' (Figure 22).
In order for the safety edge to be triggered, it has to be deformed by the actuation path
'b'. The safety edge is not active until this has happened.
After the safety edge has been actuated, it can be deformed by the overrun distance 'n'.

If the „safety edge" function is activated and the operator's
safety edge is actuated, the connected drives stop as quickly as
possible.
If the safety edge is actuated while the drives are being moved,
the system can be freed up by moving it in the opposite
direction at reduced speed.
If the safety edge is actuated while at a standstill, the safety
edge will need to be released again before moving the drives.
