15. Troubleshooting
The following table shows fault symptoms and describes remedial measures in the event of your machine failing to work
properly. If you cannot localise and rectify the problem with this, please contact your service workshop.
Fault
Untidy compaction
pattern.
Oil loss from the engine
(10).
The engine (10) runs
but the machine runs
irregularly.
Engine (10) will not start.
The engine (10) runs but
the machine does not
move.
Engine (10) gets too hot.
Possible cause
Rammer foot (18) worn out.
Worn seals, radial sealing rings.
Soil surface is too hard.
Soil is too wet, the rammer foot (18) gets
stuck.
Thick layer of dirt on the rammer foot
(18).
Broken parts in the tamping system.
Broken or bad spring.
Engine speed is set too high.
No fuel in the fuel tank (5).
Fuel valve on the engine (9) and fuel tank
(19) closed.
Air filter (3) dirty.
On/off switch (16) set to "OFF".
Pull starter (11) defective.
No engine oil.
Spark plug (22a) contaminated.
Centrifugal clutch defective.
Compacting pressure low.
Exhaust opening blocked.
The cooling air flow is obstructed.
Spark plug (22a) defective.

Remedy
Replace rammer foot (18). Contact authorised
specialist workshop.
Contact authorised specialist workshop.
Compaction of the soil surface is not possible.
Allow time to dry.
Clean the rammer foot (18) and bottom rammer
(17).
Contact authorised specialist workshop.
Refuel with petrol (Super E10).
Open the fuel valve on the engine (9) and fuel
tank (19).
Clean the air filter (3).
Set the on/off switch (16) to "ON".
Repair the pull starter (11).
Refill the engine oil.
Clean the spark plug (22a).
Replace the clutch. Contact authorised
specialist workshop.
Contact authorised specialist workshop.
Remove all foreign bodies from the frame, fan,
air inlets and the cooling fins.
Replace the spark plug (22a).
