The heartbeat consumer time defines the time when a node is regarded
as no longer alive due to a missing heartbeat message.
The heartbeat producer time defines the transmission frequency of a
heartbeat message to guard a node.
Layer Management. One of the service elements of the application in the
CAN Reference Model. It serves to configure parameters of each layer in
the CAN Reference Model.
Layer Setting Services. Services and protocols for configuring the node-
ID and bit rate via the CAN network.
Network Management. One of the service elements of the application in
the CAN Reference Model. It performs initialization, configuration and
error handling in a CAN network.
The NMT master device performs the network management by means of
transmitting the NMT message. With this message, it controls the state
machines of all connected NMT slave devices.
Process Data Object. Object for data exchange between several
devices.
Remote transmission request. By means of a remote frame a node can
request another node to send its data.
Service Data Object. Peer to peer communication with access to the
Object Dictionary of a device.
