Gas manifold 0 986 610 970
i
A function test of the safety valves (2 each) in the
gas manifold must be performed annually.
The test is carried out without an AdBlue supply
module connected.

Switching lever
3 Membrane grommet
4 Pressure gauge
5 Connection for the bleeding pipe
Procedure:
1. Connect the gas manifold to a gas cylinder contai-
ning nitrogen (fig. 22, item 1).
2. Put the lever on the gas manifold in the <supply
module> position.
3. Set the pressure-reducing valve of the gas contai-
ner to a test pressure of 11 bar.
4. Open the shut-off valve of the gas container briefly,
and close it again. If necessary, repeat the process
several times.
Safety valve 1 in the gas manifold must open.
The function is indicated by the sound of gas es-
caping. The pressure gauge of the gas manifold
must indicate a pressure drop to 10 bar.
5. To relieve pressure in the gas manifold, put the
lever from the <supply module> position to the
<gas outlet> position and back repeatedly until the
pressure gauge no longer indicates any pressure at
the gas manifold.
6. Disconnect the gas cylinder from the coupler
(fig. 22, item 1).
"
This completes the function test of safety valve 1.
7. Unscrew the connecting piece with bleeder hose
(fig. 22, item=m 5).

8. Screw in appropriate coupler (e. g. KS3-1/4-A, from
Festo, not included in scope of delivery).
9. Connect the gas manifold to a gas cylinder contai-
ning nitrogen (fig. 22, item 5).
10. Put the lever on the gas manifold in the <gas outlet>
position.
11. Set the pressure-reducing valve of the gas contai-
ner to a test pressure of 11 bar.
12. Open the shut-off valve of the gas container briefly,
and close it again. If necessary, repeat the process
several times.
Safety valve 2 in the gas manifold must open.
The function is indicated by the sound of gas es-
caping. The pressure gauge of the gas manifold
must indicate a pressure drop to 10 bar.
13. To relieve pressure in the gas manifold, put the
lever from the <gas outlet> position to the <supply
module> position and back repeatedly until the
pressure gauge no longer indicates any pressure at
the gas manifold.
14. Disconnect the gas cylinder from the coupler
(fig. 22, item 5).
15. Unscrew the coupler and screw in the connecting
piece with bleeder hose (fig. 22, item 5) again.
"
This completes the function test of safety valve 2.
i
After the function test, it is necessary to check
the gas manifold for leaks. The procedure for this
can be found in the separate ESI[tronic] servicing
instructions Denoxtronic 2.2, in the section "Leak
checking" under "Checking the operating fluid cir-
cuit for leaks".
!
A defective gas manifold must not be re-used.
